Injury analysis

A systematic process involving the extraction of injury data from medical reports of crash victims, determination of injury severity of each injury using injury scaling techniques, and correlation of each injury with an injury source in a crash (e.g. vehicle components such as windshield, a-pillar, bull bars, etc. or road objects such as trees, guardrails, walls, concrete structures, etc.).

JPRI Injury Research Specialists have a good understanding of occupant/pedestrian kinematics, human injury tolerances and injury mechanisms. JPRI Injury Research Specialists have also undergone training in Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) Coding Techniques by the Association for Advancement of Automotive Medicine (AAAM), Chicago, USA.
